2020 Review and Outlook for the SME Forum
Here we are in what seemed like an interminably long year. Like you, we can’t wait for 2020 to be over and jump into 2021! Although the year had its disruptions and forced us to accelerate many of our in-flight efforts, we can say with confidence that 2020 is ending up really well for The SME Forum thanks to you:
2020 in Review
- Firm membership did slip (down 7 from 63) slightly this year, but participant engagement is at an all-time high
- We launched our new website and platform that will be a backbone for The Forum going forward
- We are about to launch our members-only discussion site and content management is rolling out now
- The Forum has it’s own members-only LinkedIn Group to share content and opportunities
- We onboarded a professional grade webcasting platform along with admin services to support us
- We have already held 26 online events including a three day, 16 session virtual event attended by over 200 members
- This has been the most active and diverse year of engagement from our Vendor Partners
- We have authored over twenty surveys, information exchanges and firm driven studies this year alone
- 36 member firms have already completed our bi-annual inventory of nearly 350 discrete tools, technologies, and subscriptions each uses
- We have helped members fill nearly two dozen roles from team leads to the C-Suite in this very dynamic talent market – including our vendor partners
For 2020 we have to say that The SME Forum community played a big role in providing us with some meaningful examples of reasons to be thankful! As such, we are very excited to continue the momentum with you all going into 2021:
Looking Forward to 2021
- Despite the disruption we have strong interest from new firms to join and we expect 2021 to be a record year as others return
- We have rescheduled our in-person Forums for April and September in the US and June in London (can’t wait to see everyone!)
- We are now well prepared and experienced in holding multi-day/session events online should it be necessary again
- Focus in 2021 will be to leverage the investments we have made the past two years to help members access one another and information more directly and easily
- Based on our unique standing with the retail and institutional asset management community, we will continue to author highly relevant reports and peer driven comparisons
- If there is one thing that was highlighted during this pandemic, its how supportive our members can be with one another when we help bring people together
