The Distribution organization at Harbor is comprised of three broad capabilities: Marketing, Distribution Enablement and Sales. Marketing’s objectives are not only aligned with those of the broader Distribution organization; our Distribution efforts are led by Marketing and analytics. The Director of Client Experience and Marketing Execution will play a significant role in the development and execution of all marketing strategic plans and integrated marketing programs to drive greater ongoing engagement across multiple platforms for awareness, consideration, and commercialization of Harbor solutions.

We are seeking an experienced business leader to develop and lead the execution of our client engagement and experience strategy, in addition to components of our broader Marketing objectives. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of data-driven marketing and will lead close partnership efforts with our Distribution Intelligence team to deliver tailored, impactful messaging and tactics to our clients. This strategic partnership will rely on your significant experience with campaign management, email client insights, client journey planning & orchestration, segmentation & profiling, and business reporting. In this role, you will be a senior member of Marketing leadership, working closely with all senior leaders within the Distribution organization and also across the firm to drive strategic thinking and added value for our clients.

This is a leadership role, with direct management of five Marketing managers focused on client engagement and marketing execution, with accountability for a wider matrix team.

This position will report to the Head of Marketing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the conceptualization and deployment of strategic marketing objectives and tactics across key audiences / channels and multiple channels including print, email, website, social media, promotional/advertising
  • Oversee creation and distribution of all external and internal collateral, including quarterly reporting, pitchbooks, as well as prospect and client communications
  • Lead efforts to define, automate, and streamline marketing execution processes to realize full efficiencies
  • Work closely with all teams across the Distribution ecosystem and key stakeholders in continuously optimizing the effectiveness of the marketing programs and campaigns
  • Ultimately responsible for overseeing business unit specific, advertising principal review of all marketing, advertising and other business communications
  • Provide support to the head of Marketing to develop and manage Marketing’s budget

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • 15-20+ years of marketing experience, with proven experience in senior executive positions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Proven experience turning insights into action and working across all levels of organization
  • Track record of implementing B2B and B2C integrated marketing programs
  • Ability to make challenging decisions in order to execute plans and programs that drive growth
  • Quickly identify key priorities and move to rapidly test, learn, iterate and scale
  • Ability to understand and think strategically, with a data-driven mindset
  • Champions new ideas and initiatives and creates an environment that supports innovation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment across all levels throughout the organization; can thrive in a complicated, fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • A strong commitment to leadership development
  • Strong written and oral skills needed, and experience with engaging effectively with senior and executive leadership
  • ETF experience preferred
  • Series 7 and 24 licenses preferred, otherwise will be required to obtain both within 6 months of hire date
